Celebrate Chinese New Year At Home with Farina’s Asian Pantry

Chinese Pantry Kit

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and “The Year of the Snake” begins on February 10th. This festive holiday is celebrated worldwide as a time to honor family and friends, and to prepare for the year to come. Along with many Chinese traditions like filling your home with snacks that symbolize good fortune, and offering friends & family red envelopes filled with money, preparing a lucky Chinese New Year feast is my favorite way to celebrate the holiday.

My family’s New Year festivities always include the most popular and traditional Chinese New Year foods. In Chinese culture, there are endless dishes and ingredients that represent symbols of good fortune and prosperity for the year ahead, and I always cook a feast filled with dumplings to represent prosperity, whole fish for abundance and noodles to symbolize longevity.

To help with your celebrations at home, I created a special Chinese New Year Pantry Kit filled with all the ingredients you’ll need to cook up a fabulous feast, along with special red envelopes (Hong Boa in Chinese) to fill with cash for gifting to your family and friends for good luck. My recipes for Pork & Cabbage Dumplings, Ginger Soy Steamed Fish and Vegetable Chow Mein can be found in my app, Farina’s Asian Pantry, which is included in every Pantry Kit purchase.

Happy New Year,

Farina
